SHOOT THE LOBSTER UK

Shoot the Lobster is pleased to announce the launch of Shoot The Lobster UK, debuting with our first show in Glasgow, Scotland in spring 2025.

STL UK is led by Honey Webster, with assistance from Lisa Barthel and Violet Handforth; alongside the support of Audrey Tejada and Isabella Fortich of Martos Gallery.

Honey Webster is an artist from Glasgow, graduating from Goldsmiths’ Fine Art and History of Art program in 2023. Working across painting, installation and sculpture; Webster’s work is driven by the exploration of material processes with a strong emphasis on sense, account and the commemorative. Having previously worked for The Modern Institute, Honey will organise and curate a series of shows for Shoot the Lobster UK in Glasgow and London.

Lisa Barthel is a London-based project manager in the auction industry, working on contemporary initiatives that keep the field in step with the times. She is also a recent UCL Master’s graduate in Museums and Galleries in Education, deepening her commitment to rethinking outdated structures in the cultural world. Her professional and academic interests lie in breaking away from stagnant narratives—whether that means challenging past institutional foundations or addressing practices that restrict cultural potential.

Violet Handforth is a New York City-based writer, artist, and a graduate student at the New School for Social Research pursuing a masters in the Philosophy of Religion. Handforth’s work focuses on the relationship of Religion and Art, a practical mysticism as a response to the idea that the deepest level of disease is always spiritual. She works as a teaching assistant at the New School, studio assistant for the artist and performer Lizzi Bougatsos, and at TRAMPS gallery.
